1. ACP Free Tablet Application: Can You Still Get an ACP Free Tablet in 2025?<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) was a federal initiative that made broadband internet more affordable for low-income households.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eligible participants could receive a $30 monthly discount on their internet bill (or up to $75 if living on Tribal lands) and a one-time device discount of <\/span>up to $100<\/span><\/b> toward a tablet, laptop, or desktop computer from participating providers. The device benefit required a co-payment of $10 to $50.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To qualify for the ACP free phone and tablet program, your household needed to have an income at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines or meet certain eligibility criteria, such as receiving a Federal Pell Grant, participating in programs like SNAP, Medicaid, Lifeline, WIC, SSI, or specific Tribal assistance programs.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Launched in 2020 and later expanded through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the ACP helped <\/span>over 23 million households<\/span><\/a> nationwide gain affordable broadband access. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 2025, it will no longer be possible to get a free tablet through the ACP program. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, if you\u2019re interested in similar benefits, you can instead apply for the <\/span>Lifeline program<\/span><\/a>, the primary federal program for affordable communications services.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lifeline is a <\/span>long-standing<\/span><\/b> government program that offers a monthly discount of $9.25 on your phone or internet bill, or $34.25 if you live on Tribal lands.
