What Is Lifeline?

The Lifeline program was established in 1985 by the Federal Communications Commission and was created to help eligible low-income consumers in every state, territory, commonwealth, and on Tribal lands have access to telecommunication services.

Who Qualifies?

Lifeline is government benefit programs providing free cell phone service for eligible customers. You may qualify for FREE phone service if you receive assistance from Medicaid/Medi-Cal, SNAP/CalFresh or other government programs, or if you are considered low income.

Normally, it takes about 20-30 minutes for an application to be approved. However, some applications will have to wait 3-4 days or longer for approval. Once you receive approval, you will also receive an email confirmation along with a tracking number for your order.

As AirTalk Wireless is a government assistance lifeline service provider, we require your SSN in order to verify your eligibility. You will also be required to provide proof of your qualifying benefit program or if you are applying by income, verification of your income is needed as well.
